The Town of Tiburon Pavement Maintenance Project is now underway. Doolittle Construction has started work and will begin applying slurry seal coatings to streets starting the week of 10/9, weather dependent.
Slurry Seal is a cost-effective pavement preservation treatment consisting of emulsified asphalt and aggregate that are mixed together and placed over the existing asphalt surface. This product is designed to protect and preserve the existing asphalt surface and prolong its integrity. The treatment, once applied to your roadway, can take three to four hours to properly cure and receive traffic of any kind. This product requires that your street be closed and restricted to traffic during its application. Trash, recycling, and green waste collection will not be impacted. Please place your bins on the street as usual.
Residential Streets
Review the updated project street list (revised 10/10/23) and phasing schedule to see if your street will be impacted.
Please note that any vehicles parked within the posted area on the days of the street resurfacing will be towed.
Avoid the construction area, as the oil used in the surface treatment will stain carpets, floors, and other items. Accidental stains can be cleaned with dish soap and water or a citrus solvent type cleaner. Please turn off any watering of landscaping for 48 hours before and after construction, as water run-off will disrupt the curing process.
Main Street/Downtown
Lower Main Street (Tiburon Blvd to approximately 46 Main Street) will be closed for most of the day on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Upper Main Street will be closed overnight beginning at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 to to 5 a.m. on Thursday morning. The streets will be accessible to pedestrians during these times.
Access to driveways on Main Street, as well as the Bellevue Avenue entrance and the Eastview Avenue exit will not be allowed during the hours of slurry seal application. Should you anticipate needing your vehicle, please plan to park outside the construction limits. Emergency personnel (PD, FIRE, EMS) will always have access to the residents of Corinthian Island should they be needed.
Please contact Doolittle Construction at (425) 455-1150 with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your patience as we make these important street improvements.
