At the February 19th Town Council meeting, council members unanimously approved a Lower Main Street closure for @theranchtoday 's 50th Anniversary 1970s-themed throwback celebration.
The Perfect Pitch: Recreation Director Jessica Hotchkiss came dressed in her 1970s finest, sharing a nostalgic trip down memory lane. In the winter of 1975, The Ranch (then named Belvedere-Tiburon Recreation) offered just 15 classes, including macramé, decoupage, batik, yoga, and the amusingly dubbed "Slimnastics" fitness class. Fast forward 50 years, and they now offer over 100 diverse and contemporary classes – from coding and yoga to improv and interactive and creative programs for all ages.
This retro block party will be held on lower Main Street on Friday, May 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Highlights include live 70s cover music by the Shake It Booty band, groovy giveaways, and so much more.
This is the second of three lower Main Street closures the Town Council approves annually – proving that some things never go out of style!
