Planning Commission Public Hearing- DEIR for Tiburon Peninsula Club Expansion Project

The Tiburon Planning Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 to accept oral comments on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) that has been prepared for the Tiburon Peninsula Club (TPC) Expansion Project.  The project calls for the construction of a Junior Tennis Center that would be used to expand the current TPC junior clinic project and provide lessons for club members and non-members.  The project proposes installation of pole lights to light six existing courts.  The proposed lighting would include eight (8) lamps per court mounted on 22-foot high poles.  Lighting would be used from September 8th to April 14th only, and no later than 7:45 p.m.  A 550 square foot, one story structure would be constructed adjacent to the north side of the existing lower tennis courts that would include bathrooms and tennis related storage.  

A DEIR has been prepared for the project in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  The DEIR indicates that the project could have significant impacts on the environment in the areas of visual quality, traffic and circulation, air quality, biological resources, cultural resources and tribal cultural resources, and hydrology and water quality.  The DEIR concludes that all potential impacts would be reduced to less than significant levels through implementation of mitigation measures identified in the DEIR.  For more details on the DEIR, please click on the link below.

The Planning Commission will hold a meeting on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 to accept oral comments on the DEIR.  The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers in Town Hall, 1505 Tiburon Boulevard.  The Planning Commission will also hold a meeting following the close of the comment period to determine whether recirculation of the DEIR is required.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in the Town Council Chambers at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.
