The Town would first like to extend an additional thank you to Mar East residents for their patience in repaving the road this year. We recognize that this is a challenging street to work on and sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility during construction.
Mar East Street in its entirety from Paradise Drive to Paradise Drive (including areas in unincorporated Tiburon) will be receiving a slurry seal treatment tentatively scheduled for Monday 8/26 and Tuesday 8/27. During this time, portions of the street will be inaccessible for several hours while the slurry seal treatment cures.
The work areas have been divided into two segments in order to minimize impacts related to closing the entire street. Each work day, one portion of the roadway will be closed to vehicle traffic and street parking, and the other portion of the roadway will become two-way.
During the day of application, residents are requested to relocate their vehicles into off-street parking areas or outside of the work area by 8:00 a.m. Street parking will be available outside of the immediate work area, on surrounding streets, and within an area on Mar West Street that has been made available specifically for this work. (The parking area on Mar West Street is directly across from Sanitary District 5 headquarters at 2001 Paradise Drive.) Vehicles will not be able to park on the street or driven within each work area during the designated day of work.
Once the slurry seal treatment is placed, no ingress or egress will be allowed within the work area for approximately 2 to 3 hours. By the end of the day, the street will fully reopen to normal traffic. The Town of Tiburon will also be offering a courtesy cart shuttle service to aid residents in getting to and from their residences and vehicles from nearby streets including the designated parking area on Mar West Street.
JV Lucas Paving, Inc. will be notifying all property owners via doorhanger notification confirming the exact date of the work at least four days ahead of the scheduled work. Updated information will also be posted on the Town of Tiburon website and social media outlets.
