The Housing Element is one of the required elements of the General Plan and provides a roadmap to address and plan for housing in the community.
The Town's draft Housing Element was submitted to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on September 27, 2022, beginning a 90-day review period by HCD to ensure compliance with state law. HCD has now completed its review of the Town's draft element and submitted comments back to the Town. Read HCD's comment letter.
Next Steps
Town staff will evaluate the comments and return to the Town Council on January 18, 2023, with an analysis of the requested amendments. The draft Housing Element will be scheduled for additional public hearings with the Planning Commission and Town Council prior to adoption.
